A salesperson that makes a phone call or visit to a buyer when the buyer is not known to the salesperson and is not expecting to speak to him or her.

cold calling指的是業務員打電話或拜訪陌生的潛在買主，而且此潛在買主並不知道會被此業務員打擾（也通常不期望被打擾）。業務員常需要拿著一長串的潛在客戶名單逐一打電話推銷產品，他們所打的電話便稱為 cold call。cold call 也可以是業務員親自拜訪陌生客戶的舉動。

cash cow 直譯為「現金牛」，顧名思義指的是有賺錢的事業、資產或產品，其利潤可以供公司去投資在其他地方。這類的業務通常都為公司帶來比維持業務所需還要多的現金收入。要注意的是，cash cow雖可以提供公司穩定的資金來源，但並不代表這些業務可以永無止境地替公司創造利潤。這個詞也可以指一個有很多錢可以花的買主 (buyer)。
