男女戰爭 (I)

自從上帝創造了男人與女人，兩性之間的戰爭就沒停止過。尤其在婚後，女人覺得男人一夜之間變得邋遢、冷淡，男人則認為女人突然變得嘮叨、情緒化。不信嗎？以下幾段莫名其妙、不知所云、避重就輕的「語錄」便出自某個男人幫的私人聚會：

“Marriage is the number one cause of divorce.”

婚姻是離婚的頭號原因。

“In the beginning, God created earth and rested. Then God created man and rested. Then God created woman. Since then, neither God nor man has rested!”

一開始，上帝創造地球之後休息。接著上帝創造男人後休息。接著上帝創造女人，從此以後，上帝與男人就不得休息！

“Why do men die before their wives? We want to!”

為什麼丈夫比妻子早死？因為我們想要如此！

“Marriage is a 3-ring circus: engagement ring, wedding ring, and suffering*.”

婚姻是個三個「環」的馬戲團：訂婚戒環、結婚戒環、以及受苦受難環。

* 註：3-ring circus 指的是馬戲團裡三個環狀的表演舞台(stage)，目的是讓不同的表演節目可以在不同的舞台同時進行。不過這裡的笑點是，suffering（受苦受難）雖然沒有「環」，卻與 ring押韻，因此熊熊唸起來還真煞有介事呢！
